Our Talawind Sauvignon Blanc opens with mouthwatering aromas of ripe melon, pink grapefruit, savory green herb and mineral notes and continue as flavors in the bright, zesty mouth. The finish is long and delicious
Aged in stainless steel, the 2017 Talawind Ranch Sauvignon Blanc is pale yellow in color. Filled with aromas of tropical fruits, such as guava, papaya, and ripe melon, the green herbal notes so often associated with Sauvignon Blanc are background accompaniments. These flavors marry into the fruit flavors and contribute to a long, lingering finish.
The Leras Chardonnay aromas lure the taster in with an attractive combination of both vanilla and apples, and evolve into flavors of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) baked apples, Crème Brulee, citrus and baking spices. The mouthfeel in this classic Chardonnay is perfectly balanced, round and luscious, with a long, juicy finish.
A beautiful marriage of fruit and spice aromas first greet the nose. Initially both red and black cherries soon give way to the riper fruits of plum and boysenberry. A medium weighted wine, it is showcased by a very silkiness that is apparent on the entry and lasts until the final sip. The spice components seem to come from both the use of new French Oak and also from the mixture of several grape clones that are used for this wine. Mace and cardamom come to mind to give that interesting spicy nuance to the wine.
The Talawind Ranch 2015 Pinot Noir offers beautiful aromas of cola, spices, and rose petals on the nose. These segue into the fruit flavors of cherries and red berries on the palate. This medium weight wine allows the elegance of the Pinot Noir to be complemented by the French oak barrels, in which it was aged, rather than being overpowered by it.
From our perspective this wine seems to have everything. The color is a deeply saturated purple hue. The aromas of concentrated dark cherries leads into the black fruits of boysenberries and plums. The mouth is a rich generous feel on entry and then fills out with a full but not overly unctuous texture.
Our Tara Vineyard Pinot Noir greets you with a beautiful deeply hued garnet color which has depth and nice clarity. The aromas open up with spicy cedar box notes which interlace with the very perfumed clean red fruits with just the subtlest of earthy characteristics. This wine is a beautiful example of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir wine that truly exemplifies the region.
On first smell you realize that this wine is one with high toned fruit composed of a melange of mixed berries and dark cherries. The elevated aromas of toasted French Oak are evident and complement the bright fruit. This combination allows the two to harmoniously blend together to form a classic Russian River Pinot noir. After allowing it to air in the glass for a short while the violets and deep blueberry aromas start to show up. This wine shows its clone selection (Clone 37) and it growing enviroment to be a perfect union.
A big, beautiful rich Pinot Noir with aromas of plum and blueberry. The dark fruit characteristics follow through on the palate where they meld with well integrated oak flavors. Smooth, big and powerful!
Our 2010 Estate Vineyards Syrah is one of those “Wow” wines. The nose jumps up at you with the essence of boysenberry combined with notes of vanilla and licorice. The wine is ever so elegant on the palate with a racy acidity that is refreshing and provides a nice structure for the boysenberry, blueberry, Damson plum and roasted coffee bean flavors.
Beautiful aromas of licorice, tobacco, cocoa powder, blueberry and damson plum hint of a complex wine to follow. Silky in texture, the flavors of the aroma profile follow through on the palate with a small touch of floral notes added. Compared to previous vintages, the licorice and tobacco flavors are more predominant, making the 2010 Top Block more reminiscent of a Rhone wine.
