A beautiful marriage of fruit and spice aromas first greet the nose. Initially both red and black cherries soon give way to the riper fruits of plum and boysenberry. A medium weighted wine, it is showcased by a very silkiness that is apparent on the entry and lasts until the final sip. The spice components seem to come from both the use of new French Oak and also from the mixture of several grape clones that are used for this wine. Mace and cardamom come to mind to give that interesting spicy nuance to the wine.
